Our Mission: "Increasing plant yields with epigenetics"

Traditional plant breeding utilizes genetic and epigenetic differences in plants for plant improvement, but has limited ability to improve the epigenetic contributions to plant yields. Because of this limited ability to alter epigenetics and thereby be able to measure its contributions to yield, the contribution of epigenetics to plant yields and stress tolerance is still controversial in plant breeding.

The new area of epigenetic research is providing an emerging understanding of how to increase yields in plants by improving the breeding of this basic biological process. Epicrop's mission is to advance epigenetic plant breeding into a robust commercial breeding and production system to produce crops with increased yields.
